Talentedge, a consortium of Indian investors, is to establish training institutions to provide a wide range of courses in Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) in Lusaka and three other provinces with an initial investment of about US$300,000 in each centre.
The firm, through its presence of a chain of five companies that it owns in India and 24 franchise centres, seeks to empower students in ICT by providing training in latest technologies.
On its enterprise learning solution, TalentEdge caters for various industries in consumer electronics and pharmaceuticals, while at university level it focuses on provision of distance learning education.
TalentEdge deputy general manager for international marketing, Rohit Venaik said the firm had expressed interest to invest in Zambia due to conducive investment opportunities and would start by establishing the first training centre in Lusaka later this year.
Mr Venaik said other areas in which the firm intended to establish training institutions were in Ndola, Livingstone, Kitwe and Solwezi, where a wide range of courses besides ICT would be offered.
He said TalentEdge was an executive search firm with global focus undertakings in a number of countries such as India, United Kingdom, United States of America, South Africa, Angola, Botswana, Cameroun, Benin and Nigeria.
In Africa, more than 10,000 students were currently enrolled and pursuing various courses such as ICT and pharmacy as a way to bridge knowledge between developed and underdeveloped nations.
Mr Venaik said in Zambia, the firm wanted to partner with an already established institution such as a university and that its course costs would be relatively low compared to the same courses currently offered on the market.
“In our phase one, we plan to set up the first training institution in Lusaka and expand to other four towns. Our focus is providing many courses to open up massive employment opportunities for Zambians.
“But we are also looking for an already established institution so that we could work together or agree on how we could merge and my contacts are email@example.com or 0979796193,” he said.
Mr Venaik said his firm comprised seasoned consultants and professionals who worked towards making TalentEdge a flourishing institution.
He said TalentEdge also worked on the basis of either an exclusive or a contingency mandate and was committed to providing a superior level of client service through proven methodologies.
