These Individuals Are Considered Africa’s Brightest Economic Prospects

AFRICANGLOBE – The Future Awards Africa 2014, Sunday, unveiled the continent’s brightest economic prospects, who were rewarded for their exploits across different fields of endeavour. These 10 young Africans may hold the key to the future of Africa.

The ten categories of the awards were this year shared between Western and Eastern Africans. 27-year-old Ghanaian, Sangu Delle won The Future Awards Africa Prize for Young Person of the Year. The category is endowed by Nigerian bank United Bank for Africa (UBA).

The TFAA Prize in Enterprise Support went to 27-year-old Nigerian, Bunmi Otegbade, while The TFAA Prize in Entertainment was won by Tanzanian Nasibu Abdul Juma (Diamond), 24.

The TFAA Prize in Technology, which is endowed by Etisalat went to 23-year-old Ugandan, Joshua Okello. NigerianLukman Jaji, 30, was awarded The Stella Adadevoh Prize in Public Service.

24-year-old Nigerian, Jake Okechukwu won The TFAA Prize in Community Action, while The TFAA Prize in Agriculture went to 24-year-old Kenyans Charles Nichols and Samir Ibrahim.

Philip Obaji Jr., Nigeria, 29, won The TFAA Prize in Education, endowed by Access Bank, while The Tony O. Elumelu Prize in Business was won by Ugandan, Andrew Mupuya. The TFAA Prize in Advocacy was won by 29-year-old Kenyan, Kennedy Odede.

In a night of glamour glitz where Africa welcomed the next set of leaders, TFAA’s #STOPEBOLA campaign was a star highlight. It was held via an auction on a custom piece by A-List haute couture designer, Lanre Da Silva Ajayi. Blogger, Linda Ikeji’s N1 million bid won. The proceeds will go to the UN Ebola Response Fund.

Dignitaries that graced the occasion include Nigeria’s President Goodluck Jonathan, represented by Honourable Minister for Youth Development, Boni Haruna, Governor of Southern Nigerian State, Rivers, Rotimi Amaechi, Nollywood actress, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, among others.
