AFRICANGLOBE – There are more than a couple of songs on the world music charts about good girls. Robin Thicke sings about good girls that know they want it and Drake sings about good girls who know it.
I’ve heard many so-called “good girls” say they want a good boy or a good man!
But check this out. At 2 or 3am when the night club is full of cigarette smoke and the wannabe thug walks in with the fake gold plated chain, the imitation snake skin shoes, the one gold tooth and the flea market orange suit that is the man some women want to go home with.
Ladies will say they want a good boy or good man but if they get a chance they will jump at the opportunity to get with a guy that they think “looks good”!
They think if I let my cat climb on top of a man and ride Space Mountain the man will transform into a good man. They think if they act like a guy is a lollipop the man will turn into a good man.
However ladies, sometimes that dream man that you look at is not necessarily “that man” that you want in your house or in your life.
Almost every woman has at some time or another tried to change a man.
Some women feel if they change a man’s name, they can change a man.
No doubt grown ass men oftentimes want women to treat them like their mothers treated them. Guys liked to be spoken to in loving terms.
Women will call a man “baby” or “sweetie” or “darling” and some will even get down like The Four Tops and call the apple of their eye “sugar pie honey bunch”.
The fact is no matter how or how many times you change a man’s name the new title won’t change the man!
Don’t believe Steve Harvey, who I have a lot of respect for, but his 90 day plan is a joke. It might be good time period to wait for you to swallow his snake but it will take longer than that to determine if a man you meet is a good guy.
You have to see how a man behaves in good times and bad times, you have to see how a man acts when he has money and when he doesn’t have money, you have to see how a man is around your children and family members and how is with his own kids and family members before you can be more sure that he is “that man” that is best for you.
You have to really determine if the man you met is somewhat honest. Everybody understates things sometimes or exaggerates but see if the man will lie about things and events that are important to you.
If a man tells you the truth, you can usually deal with what he says. Even if it hurts initially later you will be thankful he told you the truth and didn’t lie about it.
Finally, ladies you should want a man that will let you be you. And you should let a man be what he wants to be. If he says he isn’t ready for commitment or marriage, believe him.
A man can even have love for you but despite your dreams to the contrary he may not be your dream guy. He may not be “that man” that you need to be your soul mate!
