AFRICANGLOBE - Zimbabwe Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa on Monday said that the country’s efforts to achieve Agenda 2030 goals were being hampered by economic sanctions imposed by the West. President Robert Mugabe, noted in his address at the United Nations General Assembly that the 16 years of illegal sanctions are hurting the economy and constraining Zimbabwe’s ability to achieve Agenda 2030 goals.
AFRICANGLOBE - Former South African president Thabo Mbeki, revealed that Britain had “frozen” non-existent assets and that the then British prime minister, Tony Blair, had in 2000 exerted pressure on South Africa in a bid to establish a military base to attack Zimbabwe and depose President Mugabe.
AFRICANGLOBE - It is a fact that the West succeeded in sabotaging Zimbabwe's economy for the simple reason that their kith and kin controlled the economic levers, and with the assistance of the proxy party they sponsored here went a step further by using alleged closure of democratic space as anexcuse to impose ruinous economic sanctions on our country.
Under the colonial era, Africans were relegated to second class citizens by White foreigners who came to this country carrying no pieces of land on their backs. It is this present crop of Africans and future generations who will punish future British and European generations for the sins of their fathers.
Leaders of liberation movements that brought independence to southern Africa yesterday demanded that the West lifts its illegal economic sanctions on Zimbabwe which have crippled the economy and hurt the people of Zimbabwe.
