Over the weekend I met a Black conservative. I’m not sure if he is a registered Republican, Democrat or Independent but he is by...
Back in slavery days, there were hundreds of thousands – perhaps millions – of brave Black men and women that resisted the exploitation, the abuse and the oppression of the wicked enslaver. Those fearless men and women would constantly seek to live their lives as free citizens. They would plot and plan 24-7 to find ways to escape the plantation and go back to Africa or to just get the hell away from their devilish white captors. But their efforts and desires to change their lives and conditions oftentimes rested merely on a wing and a prayer.
Bishop Eddie Long and Republican Presidential Candidate Herman Cain were once considered to be pillars of their community (the New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, where he remarkably maintained power). Long was the lead pastor at one of the largest churches in the south, and Cain was on his way to becoming the frontrunner for the Republican nomination for President of the United States.
Herman Cain announced yesterday that he is suspending his campaign for the Republican presidential nomination, because of “the continued hurt” caused by claims of sexual harassment and a 13-year extramarital affair that he called “false accusations” that have created a “cloud of doubt over me and my family.”

AFRICANGLOBE - Our brother Herman should have been aware that Cain killed his brother Abel out of jealousy! When the Lord enquired of Abel’s, “the keeper of the sheep,” whereabouts; Cain, “the tiller of the soil,” in arrogance responded, “Am I my brother’s keeper?” Obviously answering his own question, he meant “No! I am not my brother’s keeper!” The Lord was so annoyed with Cain; he put a mark on him before he was forced to depart from the divine presence to dwell in the Land of Nod!
Instead of marching for progress, Cain learned long ago that making whites feel comfortable was a powerful and simple key to success. He seems to think that Black folks who are unwilling to give in to structurally oppresive forces are somehow making things worse for themselves by not standing and applauding the grace of whites who’ve decided to no longer hang our relatives in the middle of the night.
One day, three polls, and the storyline of the Republican race seems to be Romney back in front with Herman Cain surging in a major way, and Rick Perry continuing to deal problems for his presidential campaign.
GOP presidential candidate Herman Cain’s wipe out of the GOP presidential field in the Florida straw poll got much attention partly because he was so far behind presumptive GOP Presidential front runners Mitt Romney and Rick Perry. But it also got attention because it seemed to refute the relentless charge that the GOP is racist.
