AFRICANGLOBE - It was not surprising when American President Obama told Africans in Kenya to go homosexual. Barack Obama’s speeches on his recent visit to Kenya and Ethiopia did not show any sign that the American government’s condescending policy towards Africa has changed. His lecturing African leaders on “democracy” and “values”, was reflective of the old policy of dictating to non-Western nations on how they must conduct their national affairs.
AFRICANGLOBE - Kenya has suspended a Marketing communication (MarCom) deal with American multinational TV network, CNN. This comes after CNN controversially described Kenya as a “hotbed of terror” in its report on President Obama’s expected visit.
AFRICANGLOBE - This weekend, ever-opinionated billionaire candidate for president Donald Trump lowed the boom on President Obama on the often discussed issue of what the first Black President has done for African Americans.
AFRICANGLOBE - Recently, CNN controversially described Kenya as a “hotbed of terror” in its report on President Obama’s visit to the country. The label drew the ire of Kenyans who used the hashtag #SomeonetellCNN to condemn the network’s negative labelling of their homeland. Not only was the CNN’s description of Kenya negative, it was also not true. So here are five descriptions of Kenya which are not just positive, but also, hundred percent correct.
AFRICANGLOBE - Speaking last evening when he hosted a state banquet in honour of the visiting United States leader, President Uhuru Kenyatta said Africa is no longer a continent which begs for aid but rather which seeks support and empowerment to achieve economic prosperity.
AFRICANGLOBE - Barack Obama will become the first ever sitting U.S. president to visit Ethiopia. This is a testament to the firm friendship that the two countries enjoy. Ethiopia has had a close relationship with the U.S. ever since Emperor Menlik II earned recognition as the only sovereign state leader in Africa after defeating Italy. Emperor Haile Selassie deepened the bond with his seven official state visits to the U.S during his reign.
AFRICANGLOBE - Kenyans on social media have turned their guns for the second time on American broadcaster CNN after it reported Kenya as being a "hotbed" of terror ahead of US President Barack Obama's visit. They see it as an attempt to rain on Kenya's parade ahead of what is largely seen as President Obama's homecoming.
AFRICANGLOBE - Zimbabwe's president, Robert Mugabe, says he will divorce his wife as plans to ask Barack Obama for his hand in marriage following the legalization of gay marriage in the US. The veteran leader made the remarks as he mocked the Supreme Court ruling that made same-sex marriage legal across all 50 American states.
AFRICANGLOBE - We know the president is passionate about the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender movement, committed to sounding the alarm over climate change and determined to help illegal immigrants. We do not see a similar passion for addressing the needs of inner-city residents. Baltimore, Chicago and other cities are aflame with street violence that is killing young Black men at a staggering rate.

The post that set off a wave of international public anger was short and to the point.
AFRICANGLOBE - The murder of nine African-American men and women in a Charleston, South Carolina church on Wednesday night is an event that raises many troubling questions. Millions of people, in America and worldwide, want a deeper explanation than the superficial nostrums offered by the media and official political circles. The initial media characterisations of senseless violence by a mentally disturbed individual explain nothing.
AFRICANGLOBE - A major television mogul has harsh words for President Barack Obama. Byron Allen, chairman and CEO of Entertainment Studios, says Black America has fallen further behind since Obama has been in office. “President Obama is – at this point – a white president in black face,” Allen said.
AFRICANGLOBE - President Obama is banning local police departments from receiving a range of military-style equipment from the federal government -- from grenade launchers to bayonets to certain armored vehicles -- as he implements the recommendations of a panel that examined the controversial gear giveaways in the wake of the paramilitary crackdown on Ferguson.

AFRICANGLOBE - As Frederick Douglass said, “for revolting barbarity and shameless hypocrisy, America reigns without a rival.” The United States produced a bumper crop of what Billie Holiday would call “Strange Fruit,” in March: at least 111 bodies, the majority of them unarmed Black men, shot down by police in the blood-fertilised streets of American cities.
AFRICANGLOBE - President Obama has reiterated that he will be in Kenya in July as planned but owing to security fears, local security personnel will work under US Secret Service. The US Secret Service seeks to have a total control of the security arrangements in July.
AFRICANGLOBE - Blacks make up about 14 percent of America’s population, yet are the majority of those incarcerated, being killed, who are homeless, who are unemployed. And it’s all happening under a president who identifies himself as Black, but who doesn’t have the interests of Black folks at heart.
AFRICANGLOBE - Child killer George Zimmerman says he bears a grudge against President Obama, accusing him of inflaming racial tensions around the Trayvon Martin case. Zimmerman, who was acquitted of murder in 2013 over Martin's death, made the allegations against Obama in a video posted on his lawyers' website.

Black America has had to challenge and endure centuries of violent acts of extremism in the forms of domestic terrorism and racism. The Ku Klux Klan (KKK) even to this day claims to be a Christian organization.
