AFRICANGLOBE - It was not surprising when American President Obama told Africans in Kenya to go homosexual. Barack Obama’s speeches on his recent visit to Kenya and Ethiopia did not show any sign that the American government’s condescending policy towards Africa has changed. His lecturing African leaders on “democracy” and “values”, was reflective of the old policy of dictating to non-Western nations on how they must conduct their national affairs.

AFRICANGLOBE - Recently, CNN controversially described Kenya as a “hotbed of terror” in its report on President Obama’s visit to the country. The label drew the ire of Kenyans who used the hashtag #SomeonetellCNN to condemn the network’s negative labelling of their homeland. Not only was the CNN’s description of Kenya negative, it was also not true. So here are five descriptions of Kenya which are not just positive, but also, hundred percent correct.

Emperor Haile Selassie deepened the bond with his seven official state visits to the U.S during his reign.
AFRICANGLOBE - Kenyans on social media have turned their guns for the second time on American broadcaster CNN after it reported Kenya as being a "hotbed" of terror ahead of US President Barack Obama's visit. AFRICANGLOBE - Zimbabwe's president, Robert Mugabe, says he will divorce his wife as plans to ask Barack Obama for his hand in marriage following the legalization of gay marriage in the US. AFRICANGLOBE - We know the president is passionate about the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender movement, committed to sounding the alarm over climate change and determined to help illegal immigrants. We do not see a similar passion for addressing the needs of inner-city residents. Baltimore, Chicago and other cities are aflame with street violence that is killing young Black men at a staggering rate.
AFRICANGLOBE - Judy Shalom Nir Mozes, a well-known face on Israeli TV and the wife of the country’s interior minister Silvan Shalom, quickly deleted the offending tweet – but it was too late to avoid mounting criticism. The post that set off a wave of international public anger was short and to the point.
AFRICANGLOBE - The murder of nine African-American men and women in a Charleston, South Carolina church on Wednesday night is an event that raises many troubling questions. Millions of people, in America and worldwide, want a deeper explanation than the superficial nostrums offered by the media and official political circles. The initial media characterisations of senseless violence by a mentally disturbed individual explain nothing.
AFRICANGLOBE - A major television mogul has harsh words for President Barack Obama. Byron Allen, chairman and CEO of Entertainment Studios, says Black America has fallen further behind since Obama has been in office. “President Obama is – at this point – a white president in black face,” Allen said.

AFRICANGLOBE - “It is hard to avoid the conclusion that this White House has one way of addressing the social ills that afflict Black people—and particularly Black youth—and another way of addressing everyone else,”
AFRICANGLOBE - As Frederick Douglass said, “for revolting barbarity and shameless hypocrisy, America reigns without a rival.” The United States produced a bumper crop of what Billie Holiday would call “Strange Fruit,” in March: at least 111 bodies, the majority of them unarmed Black men, shot down by police in the blood-fertilised streets of American cities.
