AFRICANGLOBE – Tanzania’s tourism sector has got a big boost on the global map, thanks to Serena Hotels’ Kirawira luxury tented camp which has won three slots in the top 100 Hotels and Resorts of the World and the Platinum Circle.
Serena Hotels Country Sales Manager David Sem said massive investment programme was behind the success. He said Kirawira spearheaded a number of Serena Hotels’ properties to receive global recognition for outstanding service and accommodation, at the 2012 Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards.
“The Kirawira camp recognition by the global prestigious magazine readers will also lift the Tanzania’s tourism industry on the world map”, he said, adding:
“Today, this goal has become a reality and Serena Hotels being recognized both locally and internationally is clear testimony that we are market leaders,” Mr Sem said. The winners were picked through a vote for top 100 hotels globally for their outstanding service and accommodation.
The awards coincided with an event to launch celebrations to mark 25 years in circulation of Condé Nast Traveler. He said that the company has been focusing on product quality, high service standards and guest satisfaction.
Kirawira stood out alongside other Serena properties in the top 25 resorts and safari camps in Africa, which rates the top resorts and safari camps in South Africa, Botswana, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Kenya, and Zambia.
