Nigerian Pastor Tased To Death By Chinese Police
Black people are treated horribly in China, what are we going to do about it?

AFRICANGLOBE – There are heightened and widespread demands from Nigerians home and abroad for authorities in China to investigate the circumstances and actual reasons that led to the killing of a Nigerian pastor, Joseph Nwajueze in China.

The pastor, who was living with his wife, Chinwe, and four children in China, is reported to have been killed by security operatives while trying to escape arrest for alleged visa violations.

A security gadget believed to be a taser was allegedly used on the pastor, making him numb, and leading to his fall, which eventually led to his death, reports local media.

Reports have indicated that the Chinese security operatives in an attempt to capture the fleeing Nwajueze, used a security gadget to demobilise him, but the chairman for the Nigerians in the Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, will buy none of that.

In a statement made through her media aide, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, Dabiri-Erewa said there could have been no justification for the killing, calling for thorough investigations into the incident.

She equally condemned the “stigmatisation” of Nigerians living in China, saying those who were found guilty of the country’s laws should be prosecuted.

In the meantime, Dabiri-Erewa has sent out a passionate caution to Nigerians living in the Asian country, asking them to abide by the laws and to stay clear of trouble. She also assured them, while commiserating with the family of the deceased, that the Nigerian government would do all it can to ensure justice prevails in this case as well as giving them assurance of their safety.

Pastor Joseph Nwajueze was born in Anambra in Nigeria.
