AFRICANGLOBE – The man who Fort Worth police said was killed by his neighbor on Monday has been identified.
Kevin Battle, 57, was shot on the front porch of his duplex just after 4 p.m., according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s office.
The Medical Examiner does not list a cause or manner of death, but Officer Bradley Perez said on Monday that an alleged argument between two neighbors at that address turned into a shooting.
It happened in the 7600 block of John T. White Road, in east Fort Worth near Cobblestone Trail Park.
Perez said on Tuesday morning that Battle had gunshot wounds to his upper body.
“Homicide detectives found that the victim and a suspect were involved in a verbal argument near the threshold to the suspect’s residence,” he said. “The suspect fired multiple rounds striking the victim as a result of this argument. The suspect then called 911. The suspect was interviewed in reference to this investigation, but was not arrested.”
