AFRICANGLOBE - After all of the drama and uncertainty surrounding Donald Sterling and the future of the Los Angeles Clippers, president of basketball operations and coach Doc Rivers showed how valuable he was as an overseer. The Clippers announced on Wednesday that Doc Rivers will be that leader for even longer than originally expected.
AFRICANGLOBE - A defiant Donald Sterling calls the NBA "a band of hypocrites and bullies" in a written statement the longtime Los Angeles Clippers co-owner sent to the media through one of his lawyers. He also wrote that the NBA needs to examine its own "discriminatory practices" rather than try to take away his personal property.
AFRICANGLOBE - A man has handed himself in in connection to the allegedly racist attack on V.Stiviano outside a top New York hotel. The 40-year-old Long Island man was questioned by police at the time of the incident and handed himself in on Tuesday, CNN reported.
AFRICANGLOBE - V. Stiviano was socked by two White males who then yelled at her using the N-word and other racist language after she left a restaurant near the Gansevoort Hotel in the Meatpacking District at 7 p.m., attorney Mac Nehoray said.
AFRICANGLOBE - The racist LA Clippers owner was caught disgracing himself again — this time with an inflammatory tirade against ex-gal pal V. Stiviano in which he said she “hates being part-Black” and “bleaches her skin.”
AFRICANGLOBE - It was billed as an apology for racist comments that created a firestorm – but the Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling has unleashed a new row by launching a searing attack on Magic Johnson and wealthy African Americans.
AFRICANGLOBE Donald Sterling may imagine he owns basketball players. But he really does own the NAACP, just as surely as Verizon and Comcast, Aetna, Wal-Mart, MSNBC and others own the National Action Network, Rainbow-PUSH, the Urban League, the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation and the rest of our politically bankrupt black misleadership class.
AFRICANGLOBE - Racism, bigotry, discrimination and personal animus seem to be - after all these years -- beyond our control. Our money, however, is entirely within our control. If you don't like racism, don't finance it. If you don't appreciate being discriminated against, don't finance it. If you don't like stupidity, don't finance it either. After all, money talks and you-know-what walks. You can take that to the bank. A Black-owned bank, please.
AFRICANGLOBE - Prior to the Civil War the Republican Party was made up of big business interests and Northern aristocrats, and the Democratic Party was made up of Dixiecrats and Southern agrarian interests - farmers and slave owners. Thus, the Republicans were progressive liberals and the Democrats, or Dixiecrats, were Southern conservative slave owners.
AFRICANGLOBE - Keep your eye on the ball. As they say, always keep your eye on the ball. Note the spectacular media uproar, and lightning swift retaliation, to the intemperate words of Donald Sterling, owner of the LA Clippers. And now we can all go back to playing the game. Yes, that is the message. But there’s more than one game going on.
AFRICANGLOBE - While Donald Sterling’s choice of words was inelegant and imprecise, he wasn’t lying. Too often, White Jews do treat Black Jews poorly. Just last year, a prominent Orthodox politician used blackface as part of his Purim costume. He claim he did not know that people find blackface offensive.
AFRICANGLOBE - The NBA banned Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling from the game for life and fined him $2.5 million for racist comments made public over the weekend, the league's commissioner said Tuesday.
AFRICANGLOBE - If the first thing you've ever heard about Black Jews in Israel came out of the mouth Clippers owner Donald Sterling, I'm sorry to hear that. The reported rambling of an octogenarian billionaire in what sounds like a bedroom fight with his 30-something mistress probably isn't the best source for dissecting geopolitical religiosity.
AFRICANGLOBE - I support them and give them food, and clothes, and cars, and houses. Who gives it to them? Does someone else give it to them? … Who makes the game? Do I make the game, or do they make the game? Is there 30 owners, that created the league?
AFRICANGLOBE - Every single time an African American says something about George Zimmerman, Donald Sterling or someone else who has committed some act perceived to be hurtful or harmful to African Americans wicked people usually have the same reactions. People with devilish intentions are bound to ask, “What about Black on Black crime?”
