AFRICANGLOBE - The National Security Agency is secretly intercepting, recording, and archiving the audio of virtually every cell phone conversation on the island nation of the Bahamas.
AFRICANGLOBE - If you blinked this week, you might have missed the news: two Senators accused the Justice Department of lying about NSA warrantless surveillance to the US supreme court last year, and those falsehoods all but ensured that mass spying on Americans would continue. But hardly anyone seems to care – least of all those who lied and who should have already come forward with the truth.
AFRICANGLOBE - Well, here is another reason not to talk so much on cell phones that was brought to my attention by Timothy M. Johnson. Johnson is currently incarcerated at the Jackson Correctional Institution in Malone, Florida. According to him, Johnson is in jail because his arrest and conviction were obtained after law enforcement officers obtained cell tower dump logs without a warrant or order from the Court.

AFRICANGLOBE - Germany's Der Spiegel is reporting Sunday that the US National Security Agency (NSA), working with the CIA and FBI, has been intercepting laptops and other electronics bought online before delivery to install malware and other spying tools. According to Der Spiegel, the NSA diverts shipping deliveries to its own "secret workshops" to install the software before resending the deliveries to their purchasers.

AFRICANGLOBE - The dismal jobs situation in America is even worse for young adults, who are suffering an unemployment rate 30 percent higher than the national average of 7.8. According to Generation Opportunity, which charts unemployment for Millennials aged 18-29, the rate is 11.5 percent and a shocking 22.1 percent for younger Black Americans.
