IBM Opens Research Lab in Kenya

AFRICANGLOBE - Technology giant IBM has opened its first research lab in Nairobi making Kenya the premier location for IBM labs in the continent. The research lab, a collaboration between the Kenya government and IBM East Africa, will contribute to the country's national priorities as part of Kenya's Vision 2030 Agenda.

Kisumu Airport Paves Way for Booming Trade

Kenya's Kisumu International Airport was officially opened on Thursday, paving the way for increased trade and investment in the Western Kenya region . It becomes the fourth international airport in Kenya and will be the third largest after Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in Nairobi and Moi International Airport in Mombasa. The other airport is located in Eldoret.

Five East African Airspaces to Be ‘Knit’ Together for Cheaper Air...

In order to make air travel affordable, governments of Tanzania, Kenya,Uganda, Burundi and Rwanda have been advised to knit their airspaces together. A delegation of directors from the Arusha-based, East African Business Council which recently went to meet Kenyan President Mwai Kibaki in Nairobi, presented a proposal that the five partner states should make the entire East African Community airspace domestic, with a view to making air travel cheaper within the region.
